This is the third in a series of grayscale coloring tutorials featuring the coloring of the talented grayscale colorist, Jones Flores. In this tutorial, Jones colors a picture of a dahlia flower from the "Beautiful Nature" grayscale coloring book. Using mainly Prismacolor Premier colored pencils, Jones uses layering and burnishing to get beautiful results. This is a great video for seeing how Jones does her layering. Also, you'll be able to watch the change that occurs as she burnishes and see the positive impact it has on the final picture. Burnishing is where you apply your pencils hard and push the colors into the paper. This is usually your final layer of colored pencil. This video provides a speed coloring* of Jones' entire coloring process from start to finish. Instructional text is included so you can both read and watch the steps she follows.
