Tutorial & Color-Along: Learn How to Color this Cat

2/20/2017

Picture
Colorist: Jones Flores
Coloring Book: Beautiful Creatures
Recently we did a live stream video tutorial & color-along with Jones Flores as our teacher. I was on audio to moderate and ask Jones questions. It was a wonderful tutorial (aside from some unforeseen technical interruptions and challenges!!) where we all learned lots.

In case you missed it, below you will find the recorded version of the tutorial. You will also find the cat page for you to download and print, as well as a list of the supplies you will need, so you can color along with Jones.

Step 1: Download & print the coloring page
Just click the "Download File" link below to download the cat coloring page.

Step 2: Gather your coloring supplies
You will need:
  • Colored pencils - use the chart below for a list of colors. We have provided the colors for two different pencil brands. If you don't have either brand that is totally fine but you should still be able to use the color list to determine which colors to choose from your set of pencils.
  • Ink pens: Black, Gray or Brown (0.3mm or 0.5mm) and a White ink pen.
  • Soft pastels for the background: Gray, Yellow Green & Viridia - Dark Green

Step 3: Watch the tutorial and color along!

I can't begin to thank you enough Nicole and Jones for this and all the tutorials. I had been very intimated do get the Beautiful Creatures book even though I had Beautiful Nature. Really wanted to do the lizard that Jones did so got the book. Watched the whole tutorial while doing the lizard, then went to the cat. Turned out fantastic. Ive learned so much from Jones on how to make things stand out. Thank you again.
